evin too seemed to enjoy the unusually warm summer breeze for this season ... |
| ...just as Eileen |

ut at the latest when the sun shone hotly down at noon you could only flee into the darkened room, with a running outside fan that was so loud you definitely preferred sleeping "warm" at night... (Asia)
f course, today I would take lots of pictures of the General Assembly too, but there are just a few snapshots, thanks to - Waltraud Sattler?, president of the German FIFe club 1. DEKZV:

evin seemed quite entertained :-) while we were waiting in the hotel lobby for the taxi taking us back to the airport...

y the way, though this cab did have (false) belts for the seats, the equipment where they usually are to be closed was missing. So we had to manually hold the seatbelts across our upper body in case a police patrol was approaching...
- ...and after recognition?
he 1. DEKZV's international cat show on January 25/26, 1992 in Wiesbaden/Germany was the very first German (and worldwide second) FIFe show with Ragdolls after recognition of the breed. I could hardly wait to see all these *lots* of other Ragdolls. Exhibitors had lamented long enough what a pity it was that their cats could not win any certificates and titles. Certainly everybody would grab the opportunity for the first chance to show success - at least I did - so it went without question that my Chayene was entered for the show. On the way to the hotel we had to stop at a red traffic light, next to us was a trophy shop's large display window. Longingly I viewed the shown trophies: "How lovely it would be to own such a wonderful, large lidded trophy myself someday too...".
ut big disappointment in the next morning… Except for Chayene, present was only Pink Wizzard's Asia who also had participated in our trip to Estoril. Nevertheless, Asia's new "mommy" Maud Kellner (Rag of Raigering) and I had much fun together and experienced a most delightful weekend full of fun and laughter. Finally the miracle became true: Chayene did not only receive her first CAP for the Premier title but was nominated for Best in Show, became indeed the Best Female Alter in category II - and I got a large trophy with lid for her!!!! - the start of Chayene's stunning show career...
hayene was Best Ragdoll of the Year two years in a row, topped by the very first FIFe World Winner tile for a Ragdoll at Chayene's last show when she was 7 years old in spring 1994 (Geneva, Switzerland). Karin's Kevin was most successful too, received for example the very first FIFe European title for a Ragdoll.
ell, as far as I am concerned, I am very grateful that Chayene opened up a totally new world for me, introducing me to the cat fancy that had a big impact to my future life. I am kind of proud that I was able to contribute to the promotion of the breed - and I suppose this is true for all "Ragdoll pioneers"...
