The Hall Decoration
he show's motto couldn't have been missed - HALLOWEEN!

he hall's ceiling was decorated with countless Halloween flags (here a view into the exhibition area)...
he main colors were of course orange and black (decoration on the judge's pens)... |
opular motifs: Jack-O-Latern...
| ...friendly ghosts... |
...cute bats...
| ...witches' brooms and black cats...
| |

(there were more than enough garbage pails at the show)
lso happily used: witches' hats, spiders and cobwebs (also the judging area decoration)... |
n many a pen row's corner there were placed different kinds of cat trees that you could purchase at the show for a reduced/special fair price (see also picture 8 on this page). So these cat trees had several functions at the same time - barrier, hall decoration, and last but not least advertisement for the seller

deally placed between both halls a "cobwebbed" guidepost, directing to the exhibition area, cat agility, cat art vendors, breed introductions, kids' corner, Pantera painting (a campaign for the protection of wild cats), and to "Knuffelkeuring" (still haven't found out what this was, maybe a children's own little pet contest??)

very show pen area was generously sized, so wide a space is every exhibitor's dream! To tell you the truth, from our past experience we had not really trusted Mundikat's note on the show confirmation that personal chairs were not needed and should be left home. So, to be on the safe side, we had a folding chair for each of us three stored in the car's trunk. But we were more than surprised when we realized that there were indeed chairs in abundance waiting for the exhibitors next to every pen. And just in the unlikely case that even more chairs were needed, you could help yourself from an enormous pile of extra chairs in front of the exhibitor area. Also big compliments for the many tables, frequently used by the exhibitors for grooming or taking pictures of the cats, for eating, putting down all smaller or bigger things imaginable, etc.
he pen's height was, of course, ideal for the spectators to chat with the exhibitors. However, especially the owners of large breeds certainly wouldn't have minded if the show pens (single cage 65 x 50 x 50 cm, double cage 100 x 50 x 50 cm) would have been a bit larger (which also would have made it easier to decorate the pens in the morning and take out the cats during the days - and for me as a photographer the pen size was a hindrance too as I like to take pictures through the open door, and that was hardly possible) |
