The Entry
ur first impression: Oh, how nice, the waiting line is relatively short...
ut wrongly thought - hidden behind a curve and glass doors the waiting line continued :-) |
o this left us much time for chatting (from left: Lilo Durand, Ellen Weigle, Carmen Doswald). Though, all in all, considering the number of people we went forward fast and didn't have to wait overly long
owever, the waiting line did not go into the vet-in as expected, but the entry confirmation was checked at the first stop... |
...and every exhibitor and his/her company had to put on a paper ribbon (per exhibitor on the most 2 of these "admission tickets" were handed out, so whoever needed more had to pay extra). Speaking of entry... On both days the show was open for spectators from 9.30 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. Adults had to pay a 12,50 Euro entrance fee, persons older than 65 years payed 7,50 Euro, and kids 3 Euro. But it was possible to order a free voucher before the show took place to get a discount of 2,50 Euro on adult entrance tickets (restricted to 2 tickets per family)
very ribbon had a registry number which rendered when somebody tried to open it and take it off. On the first show day it was green, on the second pink (the entry was thoroughly checked on Sunday too) |
n the next stop it was checked if the payment for the show was complete (till Oct 1 the entry fee for all classes had been 45 Euro, afterwards it cost 60 Euro). If something was amiss, you had to go to a table for balance. If everything was ok, you were directed to the right side where the vet-in was located. As you can see in the picture, no problems with Ellen's payment :-)

or as long as all the examination tables were occupied, the cat owners had to wait in front of the veterinary area until Lolke Barsma from the Mundikat team directed them to the next clear vet - this procedure avoided unnecessary stand in line times, great idea!

picture above: n both sides of the veterinary area there were installed 4 or 5 (?) examination tables (here a view to the left side)
right picture: armen Doswald with her Max vom Paradiesquell, seal bicolor, during the veterinary examination (I believe the vet assistant at this table was Diana Staarthof) |

he show documents, such as the catalogue etc., were distributed at the last stop, divided into several tables, each one managing a certain group of countries (I can only assume that the diligent helpers there also might have been able to speak the respective languages). Although, while it was already quiet on certain tables like here for Italy, France, Spain and Portugal...

...the "German language table" (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) was still busy

e logistics and efficiency, the entry had been perfectly organized. Everything went fast and smoothly and the first promising glimpse into the hall made one eager for more...
