The vendor of Vera Pierlot from Belgium

All artists at this show were most kind and helpful, always patiently taking the time to tell me more about their works of art (the communication usually worked wonderfully in English, but I was surprised how many Dutch people also spoke perfect German). In this picture, Vera Pierlot is just explaining in English one of the limited handpainted metal cat sculptures by her internationally known fellow artist Beverloo Corneille, one of the leading expressionists our time

As you can see from both pictures, Corneille's cats always have very differently designed sides...

Usually you have to take a closer look at Vera Pierlot's paintings until their secrets reveal themselves… If you have the time, you might want to count the cats on this painting (and get the solution on the end of this page)

Glass etchings by Rita Seemann from Germany - lovely and reasonably priced little presents not only for the cat sitter at home :-)

Before the surface of the glass is etched, all spots that are supposed to stay clear have to be covered - meaning that every single cat figure and the clear stripes you can see in this vase were cut out and carefully applied by hand

* solution: 12 cats
