 ll artists at this show were most kind and helpful, always patiently taking the time to tell me more about their works of art (the communication usually worked wonderfully in English, but I was surprised how many Dutch people also spoke perfect German). In this picture, Vera Pierlot is just explaining in English one of the limited handpainted metal cat sculptures by her internationally known fellow artist Beverloo Corneille, one of the leading expressionists our time

efore the surface of the glass is etched, all spots that are supposed to stay clear have to be covered - meaning that every single cat figure and the clear stripes you can see in this vase were cut out and carefully applied by hand |
