lovable
cats for lovable people
The proud Daddies
s all our cats live underfoot and we don't
want to risk any unplanned litters, in the beginning we couldn't keep
an unaltered male. But we were very lucky to have some wonderful
friends allowing us to use their gorgeous boys. Without their
support there would simply be no Ciara's Ragdolls.
o a big thank you to Gaby and Gerhard Kosak, Jingle Bell's cattery,
Germany, to Elisabeth Niederhauser, Campiroi's cattery,
Switzerland, and to Nadja Müntener/Switzerland (Sunshine Raggies) & Ellen Weigle, Germany. And very special thanks to a very special friend:
Lilo Durand, Purrific cattery, Germany. Without Lilo we
certainly would have given up Ragdoll breeding long ago.

Patriarca Ragtoffee Crunch,
seal colorpoint
breeder: Pat Brownsell/GB
owner: Gerhard Kosak/Germany
offee came to us as a 7 year
old from Great Britain to Germany in 1992. He sired our very
first Ciara's litter, and enjoyed his life at our
friend's loving home (Jingle Bell's cattery) where he was not only a stud, but a
beloved lap cat and center of the family as well until he went over the Rainbow Bridge in Spring 2000.

European
Champion and Premier
Aaron v.d.Waldelben, blue bicolor
breeder: Gudrun Kippe/Germany
owner: Lilo Durand/Germany
hough he was born in another cattery, he
is almost a real "Purrific". It was Lilo who chose
his American mother, picked her up and brought her to Germany. And it
was Lilo's male Valentino who sired wonderful Aaron. Lilo
also did a great job in showing Aaron - he is the very first
blue bicolor/blue Ragdoll to earn a FIFe-European title (for this
title there are at least 21 shows in 3 different countries
required). Aaron and Xenos The New World Cat, seal bicolor, (who is
the very first seal bicolor unaltered Ragdoll with a FIFe-European
title) got their titles on the same weekend and so they are
also the very first European Champion Ragdolls in FIFe.

e just couldn't part with his daughter,
our dear sweet Shannah, though she was "only" pet
quality, i.e. not for breed or show. We are very grateful that we had the
opportunity to do this special breeding in 1994. Sadly, due to sudden kidney problems we had to
finally say good-bye to Shannah who has shared our lives for 10 years. We'll miss you forever and we will always treasure our memories of your inner beauty, your love, and your sweetness.

Ciara's Shannah Campbell, seal bicolor, at 5 years |
hannah performed "shake hands" (we
did not train her, she learned it by herself), gave kisses
and was very, very affectionate. And she was our "nurse":
Some time ago I was very sick with flu. One night I woke up
with a very bad coughing bout and it just did not want to
stop! Then came Shannah, who started to purr and to knead me
gently. It was not long until I calmed down and relaxed so
much that the awful coughing bout disappeared...

eremy is the very first male I kept for breeding. Though he is incorrectly marked for a bicolor, I was so impressed by him even when he was only a tiny kitten that I just had to make a litter with him to see what potential is in this line. Thanks to Jeremy, now I have first hand experience what it means to keep an unaltered stud... :-). When he was about 9 months old, he began to roam through the house at night, accompanied by penetrate "singing". A couple of weeks later when his mommy went into heat again, he sprayed for the very fist time. But this was only the beginning.
e
peed on everything, furniture, walls... nothing was safe. Soon our home smelled like a lion's den although we always cleaned up after him and he was strictly kept in our family room. Actually I am not very keen on giving hormones, but finally we were at a loss what else to do. However, this hormone shot wasn't quite successful. At least his nocturnal crying had stopped, but he lost every interest in breeding - and still sprayed like crazy! After 3 months we did not care a bit if we got kittens from him or not, the situation was simply unbearable. So we made an appointment for altering him, but surprise, surprise... 2 days before the planned surgery his intended kitty-bride came into heat and voila, was successfully bred by him (by the way, I needed 2 days to bring our home up to scratch, to do several wash loads, to "decontaminate" the walls, etc. But Jeremy never sprayed again after he was altered. On the page A day in the life of two Ragdoll cats you will find many cute pictures of Jeremy's happy life as an alter). A kitten from Jeremy's litter is...
